Master Toddy AKA Master of Bull Shit

Master Toddy is known for his so called competitive “Muay Thai” training and champion fighters. Because of his prestigious background I too wanted to learn from the Master. I walked into Master Toddy’s gym on the afternoon of May 17th to get information about upcoming classes and seminars. To my surprise they were having weigh-ins for a smoker that was to be held there that night. I was curious to know more. I spoke with Master Toddy's receptionist about the upcoming fights that night. I decided that this would be a great way to check out all the hype about Master Toddy himself. I stuck around and spoke with some of the fighters at his gym. Weigh-ins were still on going when I heard someone named Jerome was going to fight Chaz on 2 days notice. I was interested in finding out about “Jerome”. Was he really going to fight Chaz on such short notice? Then I saw him and asked the gentleman standing next to me how much Jerome weighed. I had seen chaz walk by earlier and it was obvious that they were in two separate weight divisions. The guy next to me laughed and said not to worry because Chaz had been training for a few months and was ready for any one in any division. I asked if that was fair. Apparently Chaz’s real opponent backed out a few weeks before and master Toddy was desperate for someone to fight Chaz on a new show called "The Rising Star". Also, that he over heard this was just an exhibition for the show. The show was to be filmed during the fights. Master Toddy needed Jerome and Chaz to show off the art of Muay Thai for Rising Star. When Jerome weighed in I over heard a bunch of the trainers laughing. Master Toddy looked down then called out 178. I knew something was wrong. Not only was this guy not in fight shape he was no where near 178pounds. I thought to myself “STAGED”! Was Master Toddy really going to match Chaz his top fighter with someone that weighed well over 20 pounds. And was this guy Jerome really going to fight a champion fighter on 2 days notice. I remembered the gentleman telling me this was an exhibition for the new show, then I over heard Master Toddy speaking with Chaz’s opponent thanking him for doing this on such short notice and that he really just wanted them to work. Maybe I’m wrong, Master Toddy might be lying about Jerome’s weight but if this was staged then why have them “work”. Maybe this guy is really just trying to promote the Art of Muay Thai. I went back to my hotel room and prepared for a night of exciting fights…so I thought. I got there at around 7:30 the place was packed I stood in the back. The fights were a little dull, but I did take into consideration that this was a smoker and smokers are set up for fighters trying to gain experience. Then I heard the announcer call out for our “Main Event” the crowed went crazy. Finally, although I knew it was an exhibition I was still excited to see Chaz fight. A few moments later I saw his opponent Jerome, walk over. Where was his corner…wait… no, was that really his corner… 3 females who looked like they didn’t belong. Now I know that might sound a little sexes but these weren’t your typical fight girls they obviously looked lost. I’m a little familiar with the fight teams and I noticed he had no team…no trainer...no corner. Then someone commented Jerome was wearing shin pads. “No gear” the guy said. Master Toddy walked over and asked Jerome to take off his gear. Jerome looked surprised “No gear” he said. Then master toddy replied “optional“. One of the females working Jerome’s corner advised him not to fight the other said “well I guess you got to take it off". Jerome looked at Master Toddy again, “Real fight” he asked, Master Toddy responded “Real Fight“! What? was I hearing this right, REAL FIGHT!!! Then Master Toddy said “Not here, not in front of people”. The expression on Jerome’s face was priceless…I felt bad for the guy, he takes a fight on 2 days notice thinking it was an exhibition to only find out he’s been set up. Jerome walks through the ring to his corner with what I call his support team. Then they announce Chaz. The crowd looks really excited. The rules are announced….Muay Thai rules, no elbows or knees to the head, and no pads…wait aren’t we at a smoker. Why is Chaz fighting, isn't this illegal? Then there was some confusion about how many rounds they were to fight someone said 3 another 4, never less the fight begins. Round one Chaz tried to come forward but Jerome blocked and checked all his attacks. Wow I thought, this guy did pretty well for a fight he took on 2 days notice. Round 2 Jerome gets kicked in the elbow repeatedly and could no longer continue. Chaz wins. In conclusion Master Toddy’s fighters appear to be so great because The Great Mater Toddy is also a Master of bullshit. His fights are fixed and I’m no longer interested in his training or facility. This entire situation left a salty taste in my mouth…I don’t even want to imagine the taste left in Jerome’s.
